The King - part two He has poise
and dignity
and a staleness
His eyes are the window
to his empty soul
and yet they're shut off,
closed from the world
He helps no one but himself
and even that he does poorly
He tries and tries
to get thing right
yet he doesn't try hard enough
He sits on his throne
day in, day out
making decisions for himself
Decisions that will cause more harm than good
He is stale and old
and his time
draws nearer everyday
Yet he pushes on
like a little boat
in a large savage sea
He does not care
what his hands touch or
whom his lips kiss
He is the maker,
the decider
and what he does
he does for himself,

The King He sits with a stare
on his face
eyes like swords
maybe even kamikazes.
He doesn't move
doesn't speak.
His breath is like knives
slicing the cold air in two
and his strong hands,
though they lay on his knees,
are strong enough to crush
your veins and the clouds.
But he sits there staring
at the unknown
and never dares to move
